Brief Biography:

Donna and Judi each bring extraordinary talent to Sugar Cakes that perfectly compliment each other. 

Donna started making cakes for friends and family 20 years ago.  She has a strong well rounded art background that included building play structures, stage design, pottery and sculpting.  The growing popularity of 3D “extreme” cake design led Donna to realize that her background enabled her to create these new and exciting works of art.  This allowed her to become reacquainted with her passion for cake design and decoration. 

After taking a few Wilton classes, Judi found she had an aptitude for baking and designing cakes, desserts, and pastries.  From there she moved on to more in depth training at the Rocky Mountain Culinary School.  Friends, family and then regular customers became enamored with her ability to “cook up” amazing treats.

Judi’s children, now three and four, had made it difficult to build a career in cakes for a few years, but as chance would have it she met Lili and Dyson’s pre-school teacher, Ms. Donna, who was, coincidentally, looking to get back into the business of cakes herself.   After realizing they both shared an enthusiasm for cakes, they quickly devised a business plan.  Judi with her culinary background and baking talents and Donna with her design and sculpting talents made it obvious that, together, they could create something special.
