Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club
After a difficult 2018 that included a deep Winter Freeze that affected all of Myrtle Beach and the entire East Coast Golf industry, and Hurricane Florence in September, Sandpiper Bay has bounced back and is better than ever. Renovation projects in 2018 included New Greens for the Bay nine holes, 12 truckloads of sod were laid, 2000 Cord Grass plants were placed on lake banks and 100 New Carts were delivered in August. Sandpiper is looking good for 2019!
Players of Lockwood Folly Country Club leave with an incredible memory of tree-lined fairways with massive oaks, stately pines, quiet ponds and abundant wildlife. Built upon a former hunting preserve, the golf course and community borders the Lockwood Folly River, the Intra-Coastal Waterway and is so close to the Atlantic Ocean that the roar of the surf often remains with golfers long after their round is completed.
The golf course at Belvedere has certainly evolved since its conception in the 1970’s. Belvedere now features a rare combination of six par threes, seven par fours, and five par fives to achieve a par of 71. Located in coastal Hampstead, NC, the front nine takes you out toward the Intracoastal Waterway and back toward the Clubhouse; the back nine ventures you inland and then back toward the Clubhouse – forming a giant figure 8 without any parallel fairways. This design offers a sure test in the normally breezy conditions. You will experience the winds coming from every direction during your round.
