Behind the Brand
Enjoy a family-friendly, scenic train ride along the Delaware River with Delaware River Railroad Excursions. Sit back and relax in a historic passenger coach as you chug along the river. Train rides vary in length but most are about an hour long. Upcoming trips include A Day Out With Thomas the Tank Engine August 28th, 29th & 30th, The Corn Maze train trip staring mid-September with optional add-on trips to the Pumpkin Patch with free pumpkins for the kids or the Ol' Susquehanna Mine where you can pan for real gem stones you get keep! Delaware Excursions has two beautiful picnic groves at the Phillipsburg station with views of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers. Our most beautiful picnic grove is located at the stop for our Ol' Susquehanna Mine called "Snyders". Here we have about 20 picnic tables under beautiful sprawling pine trees. Also located at this stop are both the Ol' Susquehanna Mine and the Corn Maze ( in season). All train cars are limited to 25 % capacity and are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each trip.
**There is limited space available for the Day Out With Thomas trip, a family event that offers children and their grownups the opportunity to ride with classic storybook friend Thomas the Tank Engine . Parents, grandparents and siblings join their aspiring engineers in the fun. The Day Out With Thomas experience will engineer miles of smiles for the whole family and introduce a new generation to the timeless excitement of railroading. The train pulled by Thomas leaves every hour on the hour, 10 am to 5 pm. You may also ride the River Train along the scenic Delaware River to Carpentersville, New Jersey ( an hour and fifteen minute round trip). For an added adventure take the River Train to the Susquehanna Mine, learn the history and learn how to pan for Gem Stones that you can take home! The trips pulled by Thomas take you along the beautiful Delaware River to North Carpentersville New Jersey, a 25 minute ride. Tickets can be purchased online at https://877trainride.com/thomas.htm
