The Brewing Heritage Trail is a walking trail and series of guided tours that celebrates Cincinnati’s brewing heritage. Our history is shared with embedded trail markers, signage with photos and stories, public art, a free smartphone app, and guided tours all to tell the story of Cincinnati and America through the lens of BEER.
We offer a variety of guided tours that let you experience Cincinnati's brewing heritage up close and personal, led by our personable and knowledgeable guides. Tours are available all year long, though some tours are seasonal. We also have a variety of special events throughout the year. Almost all of our tours start at our tour center, with an unique selection of merchandise and history books as well as a rotating exhibit gallery of historic breweriana.
CELLARMEN'S TOUR
90 Minute Walking Tour
Starting at the Moerlein Malthouse Tap Room, we walk along the newly opened Brewing Heritage Trail and share the stories of the men who built and worked in 19th century breweries, exploring dangerous working conditions, grueling hours, and the growing divide between the workers who made the beer and the “Beer Barons” who built fortunes by producing America’s best brews. Tours include a visit deep into the subterranean lagering cellars and tunnels of the historic (non-operating) Schmidt Brothers / Crown Brewery.
GILDED BREW TOUR
