About Oregon Medical Training
OMT is a private career school that is dedicated to quality healthcare education in the fields of Phlebotomy Technician, Pharmacy Technician, and EKG Technician. Our courses and instructors are certified by the Oregon Department of Higher Education as well as NHA (National Health Career Association). We offer courses in Springfield as well as in Bend. Please visit our Testimonials page to see what our students have to say!

The History of Oregon Medical Training
Oregon Medical Training began as a phlebotomy class taught by Mario Pierce in 1999. The company started with two employees teaching in Eugene, Oregon. The course continued to grow in size each year and a second training location was added in Bend, Oregon. In April 2004, the company was incorporated as Oregon Phlebotomy Training. In November 2007, our name changed to Oregon Medical Training in order to better reflect the training that we offer!

This course prepares the student for a career as a phlebotomist (also called a Lab Assistant). Our course is designed to prepare the student for the NHA certification exam. The NHA certification is not required for this course (it is highly recommended that you take the exam) and requires a separate fee (paid to the NHA). Every student of ours who has taken the NHA exam has successfully passed, compared to the state average of an 80% pass rate and the National average of 85% pass rate.

This course is designed to provide students the necessary training to properly perform EKG's. Students receive instruction in patient preparation, operation of EKG equipment, and performing and mounting 12 lead, single channel tracings, Holter monitoring and performing stress tests. An overview of the cardiovascular system and how it relates to electrocradiograph procedures is covered, focusing on basic rhythem identification and classification of heart disease. CPR and first aid certification training provided.
This course prepares students for a career as an EKG Technician. Our course is designed to prepare the student for the NHA certification exam after successful completion of our course.
