Behind the Brand

LEXINGTON’S FINEST BUTCHER, PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY SINCE 1969.

Customers called him “Butch” (short for “Butcher”), but to our family he was Grandpa Amos and the founder of Critchfield Meats. This little composite above reminds us of our roots and Grandpa Amos’ little old-fashioned butcher shop. He taught us well. He taught us how to select and cut fine meats to perfection and the necessity of putting customer needs first. Grandpa Amos made owning and operating our family business enjoyable for everybody, especially the customers. Maybe that's why personalized customer service is such an important part of our business today. The knowledge and skills Grandpa Amos passed on to us are virtually unattainable these days. And at the heart of it all, you could say we are just fun-loving chips off the old butcher block.
