Anchor School students are the living, breathing entities that are shaped and guided daily by our emphasis on early childhood benchmarks and school readiness standards. We also bring together diverse students with distinct abilities.
We realize that the beginning years of a child’s life are the most important years. Without a doubt, the years from birth to kindergarten comprise the most extraordinary period of development in a person’s lifetime.
Young children learn quite a bit through independent exploration; however, they need guidance. We believe a positive environment is a like safe harbor for children to develop and grow. By providing your child with a loving, stimulating, and fun-filled environment, our goal is to anchor your child in Character and Education.
7 and Up Camp
Camper will attend the following weeks: Ages 7-12 years old (finished 1st grade) 8:30am-6:00pm
Looking to get outside this summer? 7 and Up Camp is calling your name! Each day we will explore, learn, and create. Some highlights include: Swimming in Jack Mclean’s Activity Pool, Nature Walks at Tom Brown Park, Movies, Scavenger Hunt at the Capital, Skating, Bowling, and a trip to the Tallahassee Museum! 7 and Up Camp is not just about fun, we'll learn important outdoor and environmental skills along the way. All transportation from Anchor School @ Evening Rose will be provided.
S.T.E.M
Camper will attend the following weeks: Ages: Those just finishing Kindergarten and up
Our program provides an extraordinary atmosphere for students to learn concepts of science, technology, engineering, and math to build unique creations, adventures, and have loads of fun using a variety of materials. We engage curiosity and give loads of opportunities to strengthen problem solving skills. Campers learn by "doing" and have a whole lot of fun in the process. The activities are designed to trigger young children’s lively imaginations and build their self-confidence.
Anchor Preschool Camp
Camper will attend the following weeks: Ages 3 & 4 (Must be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2019 and must be potty trained) 8:30am-6:00pm
Join us for a summer of fun and learning. A variety of themes will incorporate hands-on learning centers with arts and crafts, stories, music, movement, and outdoor activities.
Anchor Kindergarten Camp
Those entering kindergarten (Fall 2019) and those just finishing Kindergarten
In this fun-filled camp, we will be bridging the gap between Pre-K and Kindergarten. A variety of strategies and resources will be utilized to develop confidence and fundamental skills in math, language arts and reading. We’re inviting upcoming as well as outgoing kindergartners to join us. You may join us for one or all of the weeks, as each week will have a different theme involving learning through play, arts, crafts, music, stories, and lots of outdoor fun. Wednesday and Fridays will be our field trip days as we explore our community and enjoy all that Tallahassee has to offer. All transportation from Anchor School @ Evening Rose will be provided.
